This past week, we had a lovely visit with one of my oldest and dearest friends, Billee. She flew in from Philly on Sunday and we spent three wonderful days eating, laughing and shopping. It was great having someone around who was enthusiastic about changing diapers! We were sad to see her leave.
These days Lucy spends a lot of time talking. It's so wonderful to hear her respond when you speak to her. She's only got a few googley words she utters, but she's good with different intontaions. She's also discovered spit bubbles and the joy of her tongue. She's got it sticking out a lot these days.
Friday was Lucy's two-month check-up with vaccinations. I had intended to research possible alternative vaccination schedules, but as with several sewing projects, it never happened. I'm still hoping to get to it before the four-month check-up. She handled the three shots so well. It was hard watching her deal with the initial shock and pain, but I'm pretty sure she's already forgotten it. After having a fever for two days, she was back to her smiley self by this afternoon. And what better Father's Day present is there than a big, toothless grin?
We're looking forward to tomorrow when Aunt Lydia comes to visit for a week! I'm sure there will be lots more to write about next Sunday.
Hanging out with Billee
Being sweet at our birthing class reunion. If you enlarge the photo, you'll notice her new favorite thing... spit bubbles.
Passed out mid-burp on Father's Day
